From the cover: According to our general understanding, the principles of collage represent the most central artistic techniques of the twentieth century, in which a plurality of styles and points of view results in a fragmentation of aesthetic and other information and consequently in fragmented consciousness and identity. Fragmentation and the multiplicity of viewpoints on the other hand call for fragmented pictures, the ensemble of which opens new aesthetic dimensions.
