From the cover: Here is a book with a new approach to an old and fascinating subject -fly-dressing for trout and salmon fishing. Written by a fly-fisher of long and varied experience and the well-known author of many sound books on angling for game fish, this work provides an answer to some of the serious problems of obtaining flies of quality today a matter of particular concern to the dry-fly fisherman and it has the merit of being supported in theory and practice by the full weight of past and contemporary authority.
Whether trout, sea-trout, or salmon flies of consistent killing quality are required, this book furnishes a key to the means of obtaining them. Directions are given straight-forwardly and in a clear, lucid manner free from any taint of dogma. The book will be of real service to the experienced fly-dresser as well as to the beginner.
Illustrated with explanatory line-drawings, All-Fur Flies is a challenging work with a progressive outlook, and constitutes the first real endeavour for many years to initiate a renaissance of the art of fly-dressing, and, at the same time, to carry a stage further on the soundest of lines the evolution of trout and salmon flies. Mr. W. F. Hardy, Managing Director of The House of Hardy, writes I am very much of the opinion that these fur flies should form our future policy on fly-dressing, and with this in mind propose to include them all in our 1968 catalogue.
