Hayseeds in the Cider by Patrick Boyle

Hayseeds in the Cider by Patrick Boyle soon to be presented for sale on the fabulous BookLovers of Bath web site!

Published: Westbury: H. P. B. Books, 1998, Hardback in dust wrapper.

Publisher unstated, dated from references. Contains: Black & white drawings; Maps to the endpapers and blanks;

From the cover: Although it begins with the start of the Second World War and includes some of the events of those years, this is NOT a war story.

Neither is it a record of how those events changed the lives of the millions of children and adults who, for that short and unforgettable period of time in our history, were known as evacuees.

It is the story of how a few of those evacs found themselves in the Radstock area of the West Country among folk, whose unlimited kindness and generosity, while shielding us from most of the horror of those years, made growing up such a happy, unforgettable experience.

To the adults and children who accompanied us on that journey who are not mentioned by name in this story, I assure you that you have not, nor will you ever be, forgotten.

To all of those people, and everyone who were a part of those years, on behalf of all us evacs I take this opportunity to say a heartfelt THANK YOU.

Very Good in Very Good Dust Wrapper.

Blue boards. [VI] 146 pages. 8½” x 6″.

Of course, if you don’t like this one, may I persuade you to have a look at more books within my Biography catalogue?
