From the cover: This English translation of the Chronology of the War at Sea 1939-45 has been substantially amplified and revised by the authors, so that the present book in effect represents a new edition of the work. It embodies all the major events, together with details of the war at sea in all the oceans of the world. Events are placed in their tactical or opera-tional context and are in chronological form. The work also lists the activities of over 8000 warships and the names of over 3000 persons.

In addition to covering all the major actions and events the authors have given great detail concerning many abortive operations. The text conveys a detailed picture of the conduct of the war at sea in all its aspects, clearly showing the success or failure attending the various modes of naval warfare as practised by the participating forces.

A highly detailed index listing persons, ships names, operational code names, convoys and forces, is to be published at a later date at the end of Vol. II.

This new edition also contains a number of illustrations depicting the main themes of the war at sea as seen from all sides.

Very Good in Good Dust Wrapper. A little rubbing to the edges of the dust wrapper with a short tear to the head of the upper panel at the join and a nick to the foot of the same. Text complete, clean and tight.
