From the cover: Most of the speeches in this volume have been reprinted from The Speeches of William Pitt, a collection edited by Mr. W. S. Hathaway, and published in four volumes in November 1806, ten months after Pitts death. A second edition in three volumes with several speeches omitted was published in 1808. The remainder have been taken from The Parliamentary History up to 1803 and The Parliamentary Debates from 1804 onwards.
