From the cover: During World War II Mary Denyer and her 11-year old son, John, lived in a small, thatched cottage in Freewood, Suffolk. While the war carried on around them, they immersed themselves in the wildlife of the wood and their cottage became the home to a succession of wounded or orphaned animals.
Very Good in Good Dust Wrapper. Gently faded at the spine and onto the margins of the panels. Previous owners’ inscription to the first blank. Small damp mark to the upper board with slight offset to the reverse of the dust wrapper. Edges of the text block lightly tanned. Text complete, clean and tight.
Red boards with Gilt titling to the Spine.
